Whole Person Focus
AP's philosophy is realized through every student participating in several after school activities that not only enrich them as young scholars, but as well rounded members of their community. Our goal is to allow each student to realize their potential by offering a variety of opportunities in academics, athletics, and in performing and fine arts that enrich them as a whole person.
Athletics

At Ambassador Preparatory, we believe the cooperation, physical fitness, and pride learned through participation in athletics is key to every child's health and personal development. Whether learning the basics of basketball or competing at the Premier level of soccer competition, our "Ambassadors" strive to live up to the School's high standards on a daily basis in practice and competition.
Ambassador Prep offers three seasons of athletics. For the fall soccer program Ambassador Prep has teamed up with Minnesota's professional soccer team, The Thunder, to provide our Ambassadors a chance to join with other community youth to compete in a state-wide competitive program which includes all levels of ability.
The winter brings both basketball and volleyball for both girls and boys and in the spring students train and compete with other junior high schools throughout the twin cities in various track and field events.

Drama, Debate and Public Speaking

Ambassador Preparatory gives our students every opportunity to experience and become comfortable with public speaking and presenting. One of the most effective and fun avenues is through taking part in theatrical performances.
Ambassador Preparatory produces several plays a year that every student is required to participate in whether it be costumes, stage crew or a lead role. Past performances have included Guys and Dolls, Jr., The Importance of Being Earnest, and Cinderella.
All of our young Ambassadors are asked to take part in speech and debate. Whether a student decides to bring their speech to competition or not, each is able to benefit from the practice and dedication it takes to prepare an effective speech. Each year the 9th grade students research, strategize and hold a debate in front of the entire school.
Art and Music

The Arts have great importance at Ambassador Preparatory. Performing in front of an audience or displaying works of art for the entire school community to critique is part of being a public person. AP/Amabassador Preparatory encourages students of all abilities, from beginning to concert level, to enhance their lives through study of the arts. AP's instructors offer some of the finest musical and artistic talent in the twin cities. We feel it vital to offer our students the best in music and art education. The universal language of the Arts has always been one of the most effective tools for engaging and inspiring people worldwide to enhance their quality of life.

Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony and Ambassador Preparatory
Over fifteen Ambassador Preparatory students have successfully auditioned for the honor to participate in the GTCYS for the past three years. Not only do our students further their talents as musicians, they learn to be active participants in a renowned organization recognized as one of the nation's premier music organizations for young people.
Boarding high schools offer many opportunities for their students to be active in school life. A vital part of all schools is their music program. Schools actively seek students with musical abilities to help advance their music programs. By being members of the GTCYS, our students are a natural fit into boarding high school music programs. Several of our students received admission to excellent boarding schools due in large part to their musical abilities and participation in GTCYS.
At Ambassador Preparatory, we specialize in developing and highlighting each student's abilities and strengths to help them be uniquely qualified for admission to some of America's finest boarding high schools.
