Character and Culture Seminars
All AP students, American and international alike, have one very important commonality - Leadership potential. AP's monthly Character and Culture Seminars (CCS) present students with knowledge of cultural similarities and differences that will help them maneuver through interpersonal interactions with people from all over the world, from all different backgrounds. Through analytic and reflective programming students recognize the interconnectedness of cultures and countries, of one person to another. CCS go beyond facts and figures about other countries, but rather AP students analyze universal societal tendencies and how these vary from culture to culture. Students use this knowledge as a spring board for developing the skills necessary for effective interactions with people of varying cultural views on communication, gender, religion, value systems, family structures, respect and politics.
